Friday

Addie is feeling better. Thank you for all your well wishes. We stayed home yesterday and today. We were up most of the night Wednesday night. She threw up just about every hour that night. We stayed home today for good measure...although tonight she is already asleep.

We have watched alot of tv the last couple of days. Addie's favorite station appears to be Jetix http://tv.disney.go.com/jetix/. Her favorite show is Power Rangers right now. She is really into Superheros. But there is one show I don't understand why she likes to watch it. It is Pinky and the Brain. I know she can't understand it but she likes to sing the theme song.

I found Addie and Winston sitting in the chair. This is rare because usually Addie bugs Winston so much he moves but they were sitting quietly in the chair. Addie was watching TV. There is a blanket over the back of the chair which ended on top of Addie's head.
I had to include this one because you couldn't see Addie's hand on Winston. I thought it was too sweet.
I have lost my mojo for creativity. I haven't scrapbooked all week. I think I have been trying to get organized and I have been overwhelmed by it all that I have stopped. I was suppose to go to a crop to Joy's tomorrow but she is sick. Poor girl has been sick all week and the first round of antibotics has not worked. Hopefully this second round will make her 100% better. (Get well soon Joy) Mom was suppose to keep Addie while I scrapbooked. So, I think instead I will let her take Addie for a bit in the afternoon..then go get my hair cut before I pick her up. My hair is getting unruly and needs some serious help. Gotta love natural curly hair!!!

My baby girl is sick

My sweet little girl is sick tonight. My sis called me about 6:30 to tell me that I needed to pick up Addie from Awana's because she had diarrhea and they were bringing Addie to her. I only live a few minutes from the church so I went to get her. She acted fine. Sometimes when she poops she will say she has diarrhea.(something her Daddy taught her) When I went to get her coat, I spoke to one of her teachers and they did say that the other teacher went to the bathroom with her and said it was indeed diarrhea. But she begged to stay. The other kids where in the Family Life Center so I let her play a game because it only happened once and she was acting okay. I was chit chatting with my sister when I saw the teacher take her the bathroom. I followed them to the bathroom and Addie didn't do anything but I decided to take her home anyway. OHHHHHHHHH she was soooooooo upset. She cried the entire way home. When I was unlocking the door, she threw up on both of us. The smell was horrible and it was in my hair. AGHH. I called my neighbor to come help me because (let's face it) my husband is useless in situations like this. I opened the door and yelled for him to bring me a towel. I stripped her down on the front porch and wrapped her up in the towel. By now my neighbor was here. She helped with Addie while I got my stinky clothes off. Then Addie and I took a shower because it was both in our hair. Did I say how bad the smell was??? We have been through a few changes of clothes now. I think she has thrown up about 6 times now. She is sleeping on the couch with a towel under hair. I am washing blankets and clothes. Probably more than you wanted to know. I hate seeing her like this because I feel so helpless and can't fix it.

fun challenges or projects I have found

I found this project on Cathy Zielske's blog. http://cathyzielske.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/02/can-you-tell-li.html
It is called "Month of Super Short Stories" Tag Book. The idea is to pick one thing that happened that day and to write a super short story about it.

Another challenge I found is on http://rhonnadesigns.com/inspiration/inspiration.html. She is doing a 21 day challenge--it is about "21 days to make a habit +daily creative play+ daily inspiration= a rewarding journey to conquering a new habit & being uplifted & inspiRed!" She is hosting this challenge at 2peas: http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/userblogpost.asp?id=37319

I need to start planning some layouts. I am going to a crop at Joy's house Saturday. She is excited about hosting her first crop at her house!

This is why I like the internet...I have stumbled on to some great blogs and have made some great blogging friends!!!

Venting

I just need to vent a little.
First why does the dog think I am the only one in the house that can let him out in the middle of the night. He will wake me up from a dead sleept to let him out even when my husband can be wide awake. Winston (the dog) got lucky tonight. I didn't fuss at him because Bill was actually asleep tonight.

Secondly, why doesn't my child listen to me when I tell her either not to do something or to do something in a nice calm voice. I have to raise my voice to get her attention. Obviously tonight was a night that she would do the exact opposite of what I was saying. (Mom, you can stop laughing...I know paybacks are hell!) I used a nice calm voice when I would speak to her but she just ignored me. I would say it twice then the third time I had to raise my voice and sound mean to get her attention. I know we were both tired. She ended up in time out several times before bed time. OH how she hates time out and cried the entire time. We went to bed early..8:30. My patience was wearing very thin at that point.

Tomorrow will be a better day!

Sunday

Here is on half of my deck of cards for week 3--Spice The prompt: You are a chef. You are looking sweet {of course} in your crisp uniform and even though you have on that funny little frumpy white hat, your hair is perfection.
Before you, lay bowls....lots of them. In them, all of the aspects of your life.
In your hand, a beautiful crystal shaker....filled with *SPICE* {in my mind there's a little bit of fine, clear glitter in there too} . Which bowl needs the contents of your shaker?
Where in your life do you need to add a little more excitement and whimsy...more spice?

I used a technique from Tim Holtz website: http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/12_tags_of_christmas_tag10/index.html It was for a challenge at http://debbysdares.blogspot.com/.

Here is a picture of me and Addie before Addie's bedtime tonight.

I sorted my chipboard letters today. Addie helped me. We went over all the letters. I did organize most of my embellishments and finished organizing my 12x12 this weekend. One day I will be completely organized.........one day!

Random thought: I went to the grocery store this evening to pick up 3 specific items...left the 45 minutes later with a basket full of grocery. As I was leaving, the bag boy asked if I needed help. Of course I told him I was fine. But as I walking out of the store, I had a flashback to when the bag boys automatically took the groceries out to the car..or when the Kroger store had a service that you pulled up in front of the store and the bag boy would load your groceries directly into the car. hmmmmmmmmmm...trip down memory lane!

Wednesday

I have been busy the last couple of days. Monday, I helped my mom set up her own blog. Please check it out: http://designsbynanny.blogspot.com/ My mom is so talented. She just started scrapbooking since the beginning of summer and her layouts are awesome. And she is an excellent seamstress. I wish I had her talent.

Here is a picture of Addie and my niece, SB at the birthday party from Saturday. Aren't they cute????

I have been working on organizing my scrapbooking supplies and space. I am getting overwhelmed by how much stuff I have and having a hard time letting some of it go. I hope to work on that some more this weekend.

I better get back to work but wanted to put up a quick post since I have been missing the last couple of days. :-)

Saturday crop night 2/16/08

Last night was the monthly crop at Tina's house. It was a small crowd. It was my mom, Tina, Joy and myself. Here I am creating a layout.

Here is my mom working on album of my sister and mine's weddings.

Sonny, the scrappy cat. Sonny had a thing for Mom last night. He would sit in her 12x12 container and watch her. We had to be careful. He tried to eat a heart brad. He would attack pens and scissors. He kept trying to got my ribbon that was in my plastic container. Sonny kept us laughing!
Tina and Joy scrapping away!
I completed 4 layouts last night. Three of the layouts were based from sketches. I love working from sketches.
Priceless Friends
This layout was based on the week 6 sketch on Julie Bonner's 52 sketches in 52 weeks.
also, I did some hand stitching for Debby's sewing challenge this week. http://debbysdares.blogspot.com/
Nanny and Addie
This layout is based on the Scrap Your Crap Challenge 2 Sticker Sneeze--challenge was to use 10 or more stickers that were not letters or numbers. http://www.scrapyourcrap.blogspot.com/
Cute as a Bug
10 Year class Reunion
This layout is based on Amy's ricetta this week. http://caffinatedcropper.blogspot.com/2008/02/its-ricetta-wednesday.html

Valentine's Day

This morning I took the trash outside and walked right passed this pretty basket filled with goodies. It was when I came back into the house that I noticed it. Of course it didn't say who it was for or who it was from but I knew instantly. My neighbor friend loves to leave goodies for Addie. It started with Addie's first birthday...every year she leaves Addie's birthday presents on the front porch. She will leave Christmas presents too like that. I grabbed the camera and snapped a picture of it before Addie saw it.

As we where leaving, I had my camera in hand again. Addie walked right by it too. That didn't surprise me because in the mornings we are so focused to get in the car so I can take her to preschool and then off to work I go. I had to call her name for her to look back to notice it. (again, she is NOT a morning person during the week..now weekends, she wakes up at the crack of dawn and is ready to go)

Here is Bill with his Valentine present from Addie and me. He said he is going to take it to work to share the peanuts with a coworker. (He had just bought peanuts for home today!)

I received a pretty bouquet of flowers from Bill.

Bill got Addie a balloon and a box of chocolates. (like we need more candy here!) I tried to take a picture of her with the balloon but she kept putting it in front of her face. Silly girl.

Addie is playing with a pen that was in her basket from this morning. It lights up. Addie also had a Valentine dinner with Kami, my neighbor friend. We went to thank her for the basket and Addie sweet talked her way into staying for a bit. Spoiled little girl...she loves playing with Kami.

OH MY GOSH!!! This is the bag of candy had in her Valentine bag from preschool. Really??? Do 3 year olds need this much candy???? I put it all in a ziplock bag so I can put it up. I will be controlling the candy consumption over the next few weeks. (Then it will be Easter and more candy..ugh)
Hope you had a great Valentine's day!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!! I hope everyone has a very sweet day!

Feb 12th

The day started off a very wet and loud one. Around 3:30 am the thunder woke me up then Winston barking. Everytime it went boom he would bark. It took me forever to get him to settle down with this thunderstorm. Finally went back to sleep for a bit before the alarm went off at 5:30. Of course I had to hit the snooze button a couple times before I got up to get ready for work.

Addie is not a morning person. We had trouble finding one of her favorite pair of crocs. She ended up having to wear her MaryJane red crocs. It is very wear that she doesn't put her crocs on to wear. I make sure she has thick socks on so her feet don't get cold.
This is her on the way to preschool. She looks so excited!!! NOT

This is Addie's preschool class where she spends her days. In the mornings all the kids are in one room when I drop her off..this picture looks like she is the only one there. I have started taking her in through Ms. Deb's room so she can have some space. My niece, SB, is in her class too. SB gets there before we do and she is so excited to see Addie everyday and Addie needs her personal space first thing in the morning!!!

On my way to work---it is a yucky raining morning...good morning to stay in bed. I drive back roads to work instead of the interstate..I have about a 25 mile commute. Takes the same amount time and is much more peaceful drive. I get to see cows, horse, llamas, goats and always on the look out for any deer that my want to cross the road.

This is my cubicle. I spend 8 hours of my day in this little space. Our department is in the middle of being transferred to a different location and we are all being phased out. Most of my co-workers were laid off on 12/31/07. A few more left on 1/31/08 then some more will leave at the end of this month. I have been asked to stay until 3/31/08. It is really weird on my floor. At the moment we are down to 9 people compared to 40 people on our side of the floor. Almost 400 people are affected by this change and layoff. Corporate America.

This is a scary picture of me driving home from work---it really isn't that dark outside.

Hehehe..my friend, Christie, from work gave me a couple of rib bones to give to Winston. Here I am enticing him with one. He was funny later because he kept going into to the kitchen where the other one was on the counter.

Look what I got!!! A new hairdryer. My friend, Joy, got one for her birthday and I asked Tina, the person, that gave it to her where she got it. She said she had bought two and would give me the other one. Joy brought it to work. Can't wait to use it on my natural curly hair. Bill saw it and asked me where did the fan come from??? fan??? It is a hair dryer silly!!! (and I needed a new hair dryer)

We are on a kick of being lazy when we get home and not wanting to cook dinner..okay that is me every night after work. Stopped and got us some BBQ. I did open up a can of corn and heated it up..so technically I did cook! LOL

If you have been reading my blog this week, but you can't guess what Addie and I watched eating dinner...the first two guesses don't count. Yes, it was Underdog! But at 7:00 the tv was switched American Idol. American Idol is one of two reality shows I watch--don't really care for most of the others (the other reality show I watch is Rock of Love with Brett Michaels on VH-1..and that is just watching a train wreck..it is my guilty pleasure--it cracks me up)

This was Hollywood week tonight. Looks like there is some really awesome singers this year. Can't wait to see who will be in the final 24.

While I was watching American Idol, Addie was drawing on the floor in front of me. She can go through some paper now. Then she had me draw things like a flower, snowman, snake, house, etc.

Here is Winston snuggled up to me while we watch American Idol. I didn't get a picture of Bill today. He was late coming home. Maybe next time.......

These are my two favorite drawings that Addie did tonight! My sweet little artist!!!

Weekend

It has been a pretty quiet weekend. We have spent most of it at the house. In fact, it is 3:00 in the afternoon and I still have my jammies on. I have been cleaning house, organizing my scrap supplies, watching tv. Last night I was bored that (gasp) I took the dog for a walk. Addie has watched Underdog for the thousandth time. She had a blast at my sister's house Friday night and Saturday morning.. She came home with her fingernails and toenails painted. This is her taking a nap yesterday. She and her baby looked so cute!!

Here is my layout that I made from Amy's Ricetta (sketch).
Here is another layout I made for week 5 from http://juliebonner.typepad.com/52_sketches_52_weeks/
Addie got in to my ink one day when I have left it out. She came into the living like nothing happened. But the evidence was on her hands and mouth!!!

Ten things I never get tired of doing:

Amy tagged me on her blog to write 10 things I never get tired of doing.

So, here you go:

1. Hugging, kissing and cuddling with my daughter. She is so lovable!

2. Going to the library or a bookstore and just looking at all the different books--I love reading. Don't get to do it often enough because if it is a good book I have a hard time putting it down and just ignore everything else..and that is hard to do with a a 3 year old!

3. Taking long drives and exploring new areas

4. Creating---scrapbooking, paper projects, craft projects..just creating!!!

5. Taking afternoon naps on the weekends when I can!

6. looking at my pictures and layouts!

7. Laughing...love to laugh and it is so good for the soul.

8. Listening to my husband talk on the phone..I can learn so much more about him that way!

9. Saying I love you to my husband, daughter, family and friends.

10. Watching tv and having Winston (my dog) in my lap sleeping!

Wacky Wednesday

Well, it really wasn't wacky. I just thought all day it should have been Thursday.

We did have some bad storms in the state last night but luckily we were lucky that it was just a strong storm that blew through around 7:00 pm last night. Unfortunately, north of here wasn't so lucky. There was a tornado that last for over a hundred miles and 13 people lost their lives last night. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

Addie had Awana's tonight. Today was the first night. My sister's church just started the program. My sister picks her up on Wednesday from the daycare so she can go to church with my niece, SB. SB and Addie are 8 months apart but they are in the same preschool class.

Okay, you know you say something too much when your 3 year old repeats the same phrase..."Do you hear me???" Addie now asks me this when she is wanting my attention but I overheard her say the same thing to her baby dolls tonight. I think I will change it up to say "Are you listening to me???" just to throw her off now! LOL

I did a little creating tonight. I am sooooooooooooooooooooo far behind on doing my deck of me dames cards. I did week 2 for the quotes. Dianna's 2008 Deck of Me The Decked Out Dames

Amy, if you are reading this..here is my baby, Winston. He is almost 5 years old. He is a cute little Boston Terrier!!!
Addie is watching "Underdog" for the 5th time this week. She is now singing "Lady" by Styx ..it is the scene when Underdog first sees Polly.
Lastly, Stacy's challenge today is to make your on own personal statements and/or your family personal statements. My personal statement: Just believe in yourself because if you don't know one else will.
I tried to ask Addie what her personal statement would be...and I asked her several questions..but I think this answer sums it up pretty well. "..Because I want to!" I hear this a lot from her. I would probably have to censor my husbands personal statement so I won't ask him tonight.

Tuesday ramblings

Today is not a good weather day for us. We have a very high probability for severe weather with possible tornados. Forecasted for this afternoon and this evening. I hate that I am at work and my lil gal is at daycare. I warned her that the weather will be scary and to listen to her teachers! The threat is very great for it today.

I was checking at http://www.simplescrapbooksmag.com/studio/blog/ ..Stacy's 15 minute challenge is on color. So, I checked out one of the websites she recommended--- http://www.colorstrology.com/ I put my birthday in to see what my colorstrology is (May 25) Here is what is said:

YOU are highly verbal and are not afraid to speak your mind. Many people born on this day have a talent for music and writing. You have a strong private side and are not always emotionally available. It is sometimes difficult for you to share your personal feelings in intimate relationships. Your personal color can help you experience a constant flow of joy in your life. Wearing, meditating or surrounding yourself with Nile Green helps rid the body of doubt, criticism and judgment.

Monday night

After I fixed dinner last night and as I was taking the plates to the table, I looked down at the plate and started laughing. I thought my plate presentation was blah and how Mrs. Miley would be so disappointed in me. Mrs. Miley was my meal management teacher in college. The color on the plate is the ketchup for the chicken bites. But other than that it is all yellow and brown food. Then I remembered when we had to plan a month's menu and Mrs. Miley knocking points off for originality because I had a salad for every single dinner on the month. Heck, I was just going by what I knew at the time...my momma always had a salad with every dinner menu. I couldn't help but put salad down.

We have the stall tactic in play...as I type. It is bedtime for Addie. While I writing a post about my dinner, Addie has had me put jammies on 4 of her babies and she has put them to bed in the living room. Bill will be surprised when he comes upstairs..he will have to tip toe through the babies.

Addie giving her babies kisses goodnights.

Finally, we have jammies on Addie--why when it is warm outside she wants to wear footed fleece jammies..the temp at 9:38pm 69 degrees...why?

Goodnight my friends!!!

weekend

Since the LOAD Challenge is over, I haven't been completing layouts. I have done some organizing of my scrap supplies this weekend. But just a little of that. Also been trying to organize some of my photos on the computer.

We went to a birthday party this afternoon. Afterwards Addie and I napped on the couch. It is just one of those blah days---the weather is blah too!

Here are a couple pictures of Addie at the birthday party.
