December 5th

December 5th-  Addie was invited to a birthday party for a little girl in her class.  The invitation came in the mail last Saturday.  The party was a runway extravaganza and luncheon.  I explained to Addie that I thought this would be a girlie party.  She said she wanted to go.  So this morning we went to the party.  It was a dress up party but luckily there were all sorts of costumes.  Addie was a dinosaur, a knight, a ninja and a biker.  She had a ton of fun. 

December 4th

I fell asleep earlier tonight.  I woke up just a bit ago and realized I hadn't taken a picture for the day.  I went back in my room to find Addie and Winston on my bed.  This is a common site around here.  Now I need to go carry Addie to her room.  Good night!

December 3rd

December 3rd.  Addie is reading her book that the teacher sent home from school.  Addie is a very good reader!  I am so proud of her.

December 2nd

  I came home from Bible study this evening to my lil tattoo girl.   Apparently her daddy let her put on as many tattoos she could fit on her arm.  She told me the tats made her tougher.  I wouldn't have let her put that many tattoos on her arm.  Then she did this pose.

December 1st

December 1st --Tonight we went to the Christmas parade. (Here is the rest of the story..I didnt get to finish this last night as Addie was having a melt down.)  Addie and I walked over to watch the parade.  The place we usually watch from is about 4 blocks from the house.  Bill met us there a few minutes later.  It was cold but not as cold as last year.  It turns out where we were standing was a little girl and her family that Addie goes to Addie's school and aftercare program.  She is older than Addie.  She looked at Addie and said, "Addison is that you??"  Addie said, "Hi Lauren."  I was glad Addie had a friend to watch the parade with since her cousin had other plans.  The parade was nice but at times I wish it were during the day so you can see better.  Not all the floats or cars had lights.  But our favorite part is when Santa comes around in the fire truck!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

I am thankful for...

I am thankful for that we had two weeks without any rain.  It gave us a chance to dry out.  Now the rain is back but hopefully won't stay too long this time.

A sad day

My Gramma passed away Monday morning.  Today is her funeral.  I will miss her dearly.

Christmas Tote

My Momma made this beautiful Christmas tote for me.   I can't wait to use it!   I am so thankful that I have a talented Mom.  I only wish I could sew as well as she does.  I know if I practiced more at sewing I would get better but I get frustrated with it.  I'll stick to paper crafts!

Hmmm, I have been thinking about this prompt so it has taken me a couple of days to blog about it.  Shimelle wrote about how much info do we share on the internet.  For the most part, I try to keep certain info about myself private.  I know not to post about vacations (even though we rarely go anyway..but on occasion.) until after the fact.  And I try not to give specifics about where I live...and I am careful about not posting pictures that may give away too info of where I live.  Not that this is a big secret but unfortunately there are people in this world that are evil and I would rather be safe than sorry.  Thanks for reading my ramblings while I am awake in the middle of the night!

For the better part of this morning, I was singing Captain and Tenille's Love Will Keep Us Together.

Now, you are probably asking yourself why was she singing this particular song.  Because this morning on my way to work the DJs were talking about Captain and Tenille's Muskrat Love.  One of the DJs was claiming to say he had never heard of Captain and Tenille.  Really, you don't remember Captain and Tenille Show which was a weekly variety showed that aired in 1976-1977???? Ah...come on now. The DJ is only a couple of years younger than I am.  The other DJ gave him a hard time..so she started playing other Captain and Tenille songs.  I was singing along with them. 

Anyway, that was my big excitement today.  Other than that it was just a normal day at work.  Addie is spending the night with her Gram.  She is out of school tomorrow so Gram is keeping her.  It gives me a little break from our nightly routine.  I can read some more of the blogs from other people taking Shimelle's class.  YIPPIE!!!!

Blogging for Scrapbookers

I hope by taking this class,  Blogging for Scrapbookers , by Shimelle that my creative juices will start to flow again.  I know I have been ignoring my blog and scrapbooking over the last year.  I hope with this class that I can do more of both.  This is a picture of my scrapbook space.  I hope to spend more time in this area creating and documenting my life!

Halloween

Last night we took Addie over to a friend's house to eat chili and go trick or treating.  Addie looked adorable in her tiger costume. (Thank you Mom!  You did a great job on her costume)  Addie got lots of candy.  We had a great time.  Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures to share (unless you are on facebook..I was able to send the ones I took from my camera phone to my facebook account).  My computer is down at the moment.  I am Bill's computer in the dungeon.  Hopefully, Bill will have my computer fixed soon so I can share the Tiger pictures.

pumpkin patch layout

This layout is a quick page designed by Tracey Monette, Clever Monkey Graphics.  All I had to do is add the picture.  This is Addie when we went on her school field trip.  It wasn't a true pumpkin patch but an area where they had a bunch of pumpkins for the kids to chose one.  We had a great time.  The place was called Family Farm.  There was a petting zoo, fishing, hay play and some other stuff.  Now that I am feeling better I hope to get more pictures posted.

WOW--Oct is almost over and first post for the month

I can't believe October is almost over...Last week, I had the dreaded flu.  It knocked me down and I missed a whole week of work.  I have done a couple of layouts but I haven't been very creative this month.  Just dropping in to let you know I am still here.  Hope to post pictures soon.

Chicken Bride

I took this picture of Addie on day this past summer. She was playing with her dress up clothes. If you know Addie, she doesn't like anything girlie. I was surprised when she put on this wedding dress. I cracked up when she added the chicken hat! (since this picture we have cleaned out some of her belongings....and the wedding dress didn't make the cut but we still have the chicken hat!)

I need to work on scaling my pictures into the layout. I think I really like digital scrapbooking. I still love paper but this is easier to do at the computer than dragging all of my stuff out. Maybe if I was every organized it may help!!!!

First day of school

Today is the first day of school for Addie. I can't believe she is starting kindergarten. My baby girl is growing up. I have had mixed emotions today. I am excited for Addie starting kindergarten but a little sad too. Last night was the kindergarten open house. We met her teacher, Mrs. Daugherty. We took her school supplies. I had tons of paperwork to fill out after we got home. Basically the same information on the different forms but is for different people. My hand was tired after all the writing. Addie did cling to me a little last night but I assured her I was not leaving her then. We went around the room and found her cubbie.

This morning I took Addie to school. Of course, it was the normal coaxing her out of bed. Once she is up, she is good. When we got to school, we met my sister in the hallway. She had dropped off my niece, SB. Joy took a picture of SB and Addie in the hallway. (I need to get a copy of that pic.) Then Addie gave Aunt Joy a kiss. SB and Addie are in separate classes. We requested that they were not in the same class. (They fight like sisters and I don't think we would want to purposely torture a teacher that way.) We went into Addie's class. Mrs. D greeted us.

Addie clung to me a bit. It takes Addie a little while to warm up to new people. I hung around the class for 30 minutes. Addie played with some toys that Mrs. D had set out for the children. I tried to get her to play with the other children but Addie was being shy. Before I left a little boy starting playing with her. Addie did well. She didn't cry. I starting tearing up when I was telling her goodbye. I can't wait to hear how her day went even though I know I will have to drag it out of her.







The children are waiting for the morning announcements and the pledge.

I am still here...I think

Wow, it's been awhile since I posted. I haven't been very creative this summer. We survived baseball. Now we are getting ready for Addie to start kindergarten in a couple of weeks. I can't believe she is going to kindergarten. Where has the time gone??? Hope everyone is having a great summer. Be back soon.

Phone Scam! Beware

I received a call just a few minutes ago. He told me my computer was running slow. I told him this was nothing wrong with my computer. He insisted that he had been informed it was running slow. I told him if he knew this information than he illegally broke into my house to get this information. I repeated this each time he told me my computer was running slow. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he refused. I told him if this was a legitimate business he would let me speak to a supervisor. I also told him several times to remove my phone number from his call list and to never call my phone number again. I did not want him to solicate my business and if there was a problem with my computer that I would take care of it myself. Finally he said that he would remove my name from the phone list and he was telling me to have a good day. This is the 4th call we have received. My husband received the first one and figured out it was a scam. The last two times they have called my husband has said a few choice words and hung up the phone. Hopefully this will be the last call but I doubt it.

I know

I know I haven't posted since Monday. My goal has been smushed for a post every day. I have been sick this week. I had a stomach bug Wednesday night and Thursday. The days before it I didn't feel great.

Yesterday was a busy day. Addie had a ball game and a birthday party. I am not feeling 100% yet either.

Monday

Today was a busy day at work. The weather can't make up it's mind here. The low tonight is in the upper 20s. Today the high was in the 50s. Where is Spring??????????

I have been working on a layout since Friday. It really shouldn't take that long! I need to make a title for it and add journaling and it will be done.

I am pretty much rambling so I can get my daily post in today! Hope you have a happy Tuesday!

Daffodils

Addie and I met a group of friends a couple of weeks ago for breakfast at IHOP then we went to take pictures at Daffodil festival. Unfortunately it was kind of cold and wet morning the morning we went. Fortunately the rain stopped while we where there.

First Baseball Game

Addie had her first baseball game today! She was adorable. She did a great job. Addie was a little confused the first time she batted. Instead of running to 1st base, she ran to the pitcher's mound. But the second time she batted she ran to first and made it all the way around the bases! GO ADDIE!!!!!

TGIF

I am so glad today is Friday.

Addie's first baseball was canceled last night due to the weather. We have had quite a bit of rain and the fields were too muddy to play. Tomorrow will be Addie and Sarabeth's first baseball game. I need to plug in the camcorder to charge! Camera is ready to go!

Note to Mom: I am three for three this month! I didn't say I would have long post but I would post every day!

Never know what pictures I am going to find on my camera with Addie around. She loves grabbing either her camera or my camera to take self portraits.

Twilight

 

I have finally jumped on the Twilight bandwagon. I have read the first two books and have had the 3rd book for a month now. I haven't had the time to be totally engossed in the book yet. Because I know once I start reading the book, I can't put it down. It really is hard to ignore a 4 year old. The other night I went over to my friend, Tina's house. One of our other friends brought the DVD to watch. There was so much going on that I only half watched it. But tonight I watched to movie with only a few interruptions from hubby and Addie. Maybe this time I will have some time to read the 3rd book!

This is no April's fool joke. I am actually blogging today! I know I am bad blogger lately. I didn't even post in March. But I have a goal for April to blog everyday.

I am home sick today. Addie is also home with me today. We have the yucky noses!

Jan 8th-photo--which one?

I am trying to decide which of these photos will be the photo of the day. Addie got out her paint and started painting even though I really didn't want her to get it out. But luckily she didn't make too much of a mess. And she did clean up afterwards!!! We got the paint off the hardwood floors. She decided to paint pictures of her Aunt and Uncle and two cousins. The next time we see them she will give them her masterpieces!
