Prayer request
One of my friends found out this week that her daughter has a brain tumor that is cancerous. Please say lots of prayers for Peighton and her parents and family. She is 4 years old and only a couple of weeks younger than my Addie. Peighton is having a biopsy this week to find out what kind of cancer it is. But she has three spots on her brain and one on her spine. I'll keep you updated..thanks for all the prayers!

Bad bad blogger
I have been a bad blogger these last few weeks. I am still adjusting to the work schedule. Then two weeks ago I had a staph infection develop in my left arm pit. It was underneath the skin. I had to go to the doctor and he had to cut it out. Then I had to deal with that all week and last weekend. I had a couple of more trips to the doctor to have it checked. It was not a fun experience at all.
This week we had Gustav take a visit to our state as a Tropical storm. He did his damage and we were without power Tuesday evening and all day Wednesday 5:00 am to 9:30 pm. At work we were with out power all day Wednesday and part of Thursday. The bad thing about my job is they won't send us home on things like that. So we all sat in the dark! So much fun...NOT!
Addie started Awana's at church Wednesday. On Monday she starts soccer practice. And she will have her first soccer game next Saturday. She is excited.

I am still alive
I haven't been blogging much since I started my new job. Heck I haven't wanted to be on the computer at home much since I started working. I haven't been creative since I started working. At night time I am just tired. I will be glad when I adjust and can feel like being creative in the evenings. Maybe I need to quit my job so I can do these things I love again...but I don't think Bill will go for that. LOL But I really do love my new job and my co-workers are great. I need to finish getting ready for work but wanted to check in with my blogger friends.

MIA
Yes, I have been missing this week. But I have been exhausted from starting my new job. After being off work for 4 months, it is an adjustment to get back into a routine. But I am glad to be working again. I really like what I am doing. The attorney I am working for has only been at the firm for 3 months. She is starting a bankruptcy division in the firm. The firm is known for personal injury, medical malpractice, Social security issues, etc. So, there is a lot of set up we are doing now. My coworkers are very nice and helpful. I am grateful for that.
I haven't had time to be creative this week. Wednesday my neighbor told me she was having a yard sale and if I wanted to bring over some of Addie's outgrown clothes she would sale them for me. Thursday I took them over to her house along with some card tables for her to use. She has a son Addie's age. We ended up staying over there for awhile because Addie and her son were playing. Friday night I kept my niece while my sis and BIL went out to eat. Then they took Addie home with them for her to spend the night.
Now I really need to have my head examine. My neighbor did well with yard sale on Friday and she was going to have it again on Saturday. Saturday morning I pulled out the stuff I had from my last yard sale that didn't sale. (It was a big flop--only one person came by) I took my stuff over there and set up shop. The early morning time temp was okay............but then it got to be over 100 degrees. I about had a heat stroke. About 11:30 my other neigbor came over and asked us if we wanted more stuff to sale because he had quite a lot of stuff that someone had given him and he was going to take it to a non-profit group. He said if we wanted to sale it would could keep the morning and it would be our "blessing." We said okay. OMG..he brought a ton of stuff. I actually kept a few items out of the stuff. We sold about 3rd of the items too! I went to my other neighbor and asked if she wanted the leftover stuff to try to sale at her next yard sale she could have it and keep the money and consider it her "blessing." She said she would! But being outside for most of the day in 100 degree weather about did me end.
Late yesterday evening Addie and I came up to my Gramma's house to spend the night. My aunt and uncle have gone on vacation this week. My Gramma feels more comfortable with someone with her most of the time. One day she fell and spend several hours on the floor trying to get to her cell phone. So, I told Dad I would come up to spend last night and Monday night with her this week to help him out. And I also kept my niece again last night while my sis and BIL went out to eat with friends to celebrate someone's birthday. Gramma enjoyed watching my niece and Addie play.
Well that is my book for this morning. I am looking out the window and my aunt's dog (golden retrivier) is lying in a chair staring at me. I guess he would like me to feed him now. I have let them out of their room to enjoy the outdoors before it gets too hot today. Temp is to be 104 with a heat index of 115!! It is 7:30 now and already 80 degrees with a heat index of 84.

Tuesday
One of the best things of my new job is that my office is about a mile from my parent's house and about a quarter of a mile from my Gramma's house. Today before work I took a load of my laundry to my mom's house. I got it started and Dad put it in the dryer for me so it was ready at lunch time. And I can have lunch with my mom Designs by Nanny !!!
Bill said he fixed the washing machine. The mechanism that is broke has electrical tape around it to make it work. We will see how long it will last.

First day of work
I survived my first day of work. I was exhausted last night and it will take a few days to get into a routine at night especially with Addie. The attorney I am working for had fresh flowers on my desk when I got there. I thought that was very sweet of her to do that. I have a lot to learn but it will be fun. Everyone is nice.
But my washing machine decides to break on the day I go back to work. AGHHHHH I put in a load of towels last night. When I went to go put them into the dryer the washer was full of water. The part that needs to be pushed in so it thinks the lid is closed is completely broken. And I don't know when we can get it fixed time wise. What a day!

Weekend
Yesterday was Addie's birthday party. We had it at McDonald's. It was her choice. She got lots of Spiderman and Batman gifts plus a couple of other things. Nanny and Pawpaw got her a bicycle. We have lots of practicing to do with pedaling.
Today we took it easy. Addie and I went grocery shopping this morning. This little bug rode to and from the grocery store twice. I had to go back because they bag boy didn't put my cantolpe in my buggy. I noticed him on top of the car when I left and then when I was putting Addie in the car at the grocery store he was on the side. Then when I had to go back to the store he was on the side mirror where he stayed the whole ride.

Need creative help
Late yesterday afternoon my in-laws took Addie swimming at the fitness center they belong to. It has an outdoor pool that on Friday evenings and weekends will let you bring the kiddo's to swim. When my MIL dropped Addie off last night she made the comment that we are going to have our hands full when Addie is a teenager. More specifically Bill is going to have his hands full with the boys. She said that Addie attracts all the little boys around here and this happened at the pool. Which I can see this because when I drop Addie off at preschool it is the boys that swarm her and NOT the girls. But Addie loves to play with Spiderman, Batman, cars and such..so she usually has a toy they want to see or they want to show her their cool toy.
Back to where I need your creative help. Bill and I were telling Addie she is like a magnet to the boys. Little boys are just drawn to her. I started calling her a boy magnet to which she replied, "I am NOT a boy!" I need another name to use besides boy...kind of like on the same lines of "chick" magnet. I want to do a layout to document this and need a great title. Thanks for your help!
