My masterpieces

While cleaning out the basement, I found a box of my stuff from high school and college. Unfortunately some of it was ruined by water damage. But I was able to save some of my artwork from high school. These are my pen and ink art collection. (that sounds fancy..LOL) I hope you enjoy them. I mounted them on 12x12 black cardstock and will put in my scrapbooks.

Addie's Masterpiece

Yesterday, Addie went home with her cousin, SB, afterschool. My sis called me to bring jammies because they were in the bathtub. When I got to my sister's, I noticed the driveway and porch had been hosed down. Apparently, the girls were painting and painted more than the paper..they painted the porch, the house, etc. I am guessing themselves too since they were in the tub. Addie's masterpiece was still too wet to take home last night but SB brought it with her to school and it was in Addie's cubbie this morning.

"You can't always get what you want" by the Rolling Stones came on the radio this evening. I started singing the song and Addie started to try to sing too. But then we got home and I got Addie out of her car seat singing this song. Addie told me the song wasn't on. But I kept singing

And she kept telling me the song wasn't on and I kept singing

But Addie can't always get what she wants--and I will sing when and where I want!!!! and she is going to love me when she gets older and I do this in front of her friends. LOL

Green cantaloupe

Yesterday I bought a honeydew melon. I couldn't remember if Addie liked them from last summer. But since they were cheaper than cantaloupe I bought one anyway. Last night I was cutting it up. Addie walked in and saw what I was doing. Her response, "Oh, it's green cantaloupe." I explained to her that it was honeydew melon. This one was very sweet. She loved it!

Memorial Day

It is the un-official start of summer. I got Addie's pools out today and cleaned them up. It was an all day event. Unfortunately, she got a little sunburn..so we had to wait until this evening to play in the big pool after I got it blown up. Now if I can all get rid of the mosquitos!!!

baby shower

Yesterday, Addie and I went to the baby shower for our friends. I must say it was an experience. AND I should have known not to eat before I got there. Since Addie and I had some time to kill before the baby shower, we stopped at Taco Bell to have lunch. There was so much food. Bill's buddy family is from Serbia and the baby shower was at their church in the reception hall. Since Addie and I had some time to kill before the baby shower, we stopped at Taco Bell to have lunch. Well, this turned out to be a luncheon. On the menu was brisket with a mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, roasted peppers, lasgana (that was awesome), salad, bread and fruit (watermelon, grapes and cantelope). OMG..the food was wonderful. I just took a sample of most of it. Then the desserts..........there were at least 10 desserts....it was unbelievable! One of Sto's Aunts made this cake. She made the little baby on the cake..isn't it adorable???

Our friends received lots and lots of gifts. The baby won't have to wear the same outfit twice because she has so many clothes. LOL

She opened one of the gifts that took a couple people to help her because it was wrapped around. When it was all out of the bag this is what it looked like.

I thought this was a clever idea to hang the outfits and shoes on a clothes line.

Addie danced with her new friends. She was too cute when she was watching their feet and trying to do what they were doing.

We had a great time. Even though I could not understand what was being said most of the time because everyone was speaking Serbian. I brought lots of food home for Bill. I was introduced as Bill's wife because they all seem to remember Bill.

My neighbor made me a birthday cake. She left it on the front porch with a gift for me. It was so sweet of her. She gave me a scrapbooking book.

My big plan for today is to attend a baby shower for a friend. I made her a baby album scrapbook. It is 6x6 in size. Mom made a baby's blanket for me to give to her also. Check out Mom's blog for a picture of the blanket and cute card she made. http://designsbynanny.blogspot.com/.

Yesterday, Addie and I went to see my parents. I had to get the baby's blanket from her. She and Dad gave me my birthday present. I got a $20 gift certificate to the LSS and a t-shirt that says "Scrapbooking Diva" on it. TOO COOL. Then we went to my in-laws for dinner for my un-official birthday party. Poor Bill is having to work this weekend. Luckily he is able to work from home. He was going to come over for dinner but he said as he put on shoes to leave, he got a call from work. We will celebrate my birthday again in June with the other June birthdays in his family.

Bad Blogger

I have been a bad blogger this past week. I haven't posted a blog in a week. I have been busy decluttering and cleaning out the basement for the past week. Okay so there have been lots of breaks..and I still have a lot to do. For the most part my basement is unfinished and it is as big as our house. In fact it even goes under the front porch. It is amazing how much junk we can accumulate in a short amount of time. We have lived in this house for almost 6 years..but when you have a husband that doesn't throw anything away and you are a former packrat yourself, the junk collects. Today I am getting my father's in law truck to haul trash to the dump. What a fun day it will be. I hope to finish this project by Friday.

I have also been working on a baby album for a gift...pictures to come later!

Mother's Day

After we left Mom's, we went to see my Gramma. We only visited for a little bit because she wasn't feeling well. But she was very happy to see Addie.

Later in the afternoon we went to see Bill's mom. I forgot the camera so I didn't get any pictures..but we had a nice visit. Addie got to play with her cousins.

Layouts

My 61st layout of the year!!! woooohoooo...I am 2/3 away from completing my goal of 183 layouts this year. This is my nephew, Jess. The picture was taken in 2000. I found it while I was cleaning at the basement. It was in a frame that I don't like anymore so I decided to highlight it on a scrapbook page. He is such a cutie!!!!

This picture is of my parents from my sister's first wedding in 1988. Flashback time!!!! WOW..can it be 20 years ago???? Don't they look just beautiful!
